Call for Nominations: Jessie Bernard Awards from the Feminism and Family Studies Section

Deadline for Submissions: April 15, 2018

The Feminism and Family Studies Section of the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) is accepting nominations for two awards available to students and new professionals: the Jessie Bernard Outstanding Research Proposal from a Feminist Perspective and the Jessie Bernard Contribution to Feminist Scholarship Paper Award.

These awards are presented in memory of Jessie Bernard, former NCFR board member and pioneer in the field of feminist family studies. Jessie Bernard declared herself a feminist in 1970 and is known for her celebrated description of "his" and "her" marriages. She was a board member of the American Sociological Association, the Groves Conference on Marriage and Family, and NCFR.

Nominees should be graduate students or new professionals with up to five years post-doctoral work. Membership in NCFR or the Feminism and Family Studies Section is not required. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, April 15, 2018.

Please see the following pages for specific details on the award and its criteria, and how to apply.  Only one submission per category will be accepted from any applicant.
