Call for Proposals: Global Perspectives on Dialogue in the Classroom

Family scholars, educators, and practitioners are invited to contribute chapters for a new book on global approaches to dialogue, and to share your experiences of teaching and engaging in conversational practices across various cultural, community, and global perspectives. The editors are especially interested in showcasing critical dialogue approaches that can apply to the classroom.

In a time of deep political divisions in the U.S., it has become difficult to engage classroom conversations on a variety of topics without being pulled into positions that stymie openness, curiosity, or critical thinking. This book will explore the use of dialogue to engage people across differences and perspectives, and discuss dialogical practices that embody globally-informed and decolonizing approaches to conversations.

Please email submissions to the co-editors listed below by Sept. 1, 2019.
