Member News: Libby Balter Blume Named Professor Emerita

Congratulations to NCFR Fellow Libby Balter Blume, Ph.D., CFLE, upon receiving the rank of professor emerita at the University of Detroit Mercy, where Dr. Blume has served for 31 years as professor of psychology and was founding director of the developmental psychology program.

Dr. Blume earned her Ph.D. in human development and family studies from Texas Tech University. In 1995, she became the founding editor of the Michigan Family Review and since 2014, has served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Family Theory & Review.

Honored at the President's Convocation, Provost Pam Zarkowski stated "Professor Blume is a renaissance woman who consistently crosses disciplines in her very work, a particularly important trait in contemporary academia. Consistently writing, editing and publishing in peer-reviewed books and journals; her academic output is impressive. She is devoted to the university, her students, and her colleagues."
