Mister Rogers is having a moment. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of television show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Fred Rogers' legacy is being honored with a postage stamp, and a hit new documentary film, Won't You Be My Neighbor? 

For those not familiar with his work, the video below is a perfect primer of his calm demeanor, and passion for working with children. Appearing before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Communications, Mr. Rogers presents a case in support of $20 million in funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. In less than seven minutes, he is able to win over the tough-talking chairman John O. Pastore.
