Suzanne R. Smith, Ph.D., was appointed president of SUNY Potsdam. In April, SUNY Potsdam will celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Smith as its 18^th president. She was appointed to the position by the SUNY Board of Trustees at the recommendation of Chancellor Dr. John B. King, following a nationwide search. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Smith was the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University.

Among her many activities at NCFR, Dr. Smith has been a frequent journal author and annual conference presenter. She has also served as a member of the NCFR Board of Directors and as an officer of the Religion, Spirituality, and Family Section.
