The September 2018 issue is devoted to the topic Military and Veteran‐Connected Families: Advances in Theory and Methodology and was co-edited by NCFR members Casey J. Totenhagen, Ph.D., and David L. Albright, Ph.D., M.S.W.

In their introduction, the co-editors state that this issue "synthesizes the growing and interdisciplinary literature on military and veteran families to promote methodological and theoretical clarity in both research and practice with families."  The 10 feature articles in this issue "review the current literature as well as provide theoretical guidance for researchers and practitioners interested in understanding and supporting the needs of service members, veterans, and their families."
