Russell Named Director of School of Human Ecology

NCFR Fellow Stephen T. Russell, Ph.D., Priscilla Pond Flawn regents professor in child development, and chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) at the University of Texas at Austin (UT), has accepted an invitation to serve as the next director of the UT School of Human Ecology, beginning in January 2020. He will continue to serve as Flawn professor and chair of HDFS. A distinguished and internationally recognized scholar, Dr. Russell has made sustained and influential contributions to scholarship on youth development, LGBT families, school curriculum and climate, and family policy. He has performed extensive service to NCFR through his frequent presentations at annual conferences and various leadership roles. He was named a Fellow in 2016 and is currently a member-at-large of the NCFR Board of Directors. Congratulations, Dr. Russell!
