These three papers draw on qualitative life history interviews to explore coping strategies for early childhood traumas; grieving processes due to homicide survivorship; and family resilience during reentry from paternal incarceration.

This symposium investigates these issues in hopes of reframing the narrative in research on people of color to focus on the critical influence of skin tone on romantic relationships and family dynamics.

This symposium examines these processes across five different intersections of queer families: stepfamilies headed by a gay male couple, interracial lesbian couple, parents with gender non-conforming youth, queers couples who adopt, and queer parents who used a known sperm donor.

This symposium is designed to examine how Family Life Education (FLE) is designed, delivered and practiced across the globe. The results of three randomized control trials examining the effects of fatherhood interventions on low income, primarily unmarried fathers will be presented. The fourth paper will present the findings of a meta-analysis of existing evaluations of fatherhood programs.

This symposium extends emerging research on sibling relationships drawing from cross-disciplinary collaboration and the strengths-based approach to advance past scholarship that once pathologized and marginalized families of non-nuclear, nontraditional family configurations.
